Saint Nicholas School was founded in 1987 by James L. McKey and Margot T. Heard, who shared a vision for a school that would provide a classical and Montessori-inspired education. James L. McKey was instrumental in organizing the school as a private independent institution, securing property, and building a campus that would serve families in Houston and surrounding areas.
